What started as a peaceful evening of moon-gazing turned into an unforgettable moment for a couple in Sharjah, UAE, who claim to have witnessed a fast-moving, diamond-shaped unidentified flying object in the early hours of April 15. The brief but striking encounter has been officially reported to the National UFO Reporting Center (NUFORC).

According to the testimony, the sighting occurred around 3:17 AM local time, as the couple stood on their balcony enjoying the full moon and the twinkling skyline leading toward Dubai, including the iconic Burj Khalifa. While the wife was testing the moon-photography capabilities of a popular smartphone camera, both she and her husband spotted a black, diamond-shaped object suddenly streaking across the sky — just beneath and to the right of the moon.

“It looked like something falling from the sky,” the witness reported, noting the uncanny illusion created by the object's sudden movement and speed. Though it lasted only one to two seconds, the sight left a lasting impression. The couple estimates the object was smaller than a Boeing 737, flying at an approximate speed of 800 km/h, and passed about 5 kilometers away from their position.

The object appeared to be traveling eastward from Sharjah toward Dubai at a 45-degree elevation angle. The witnesses described it as solid black and completely silent, with no lights or visible exhaust, adding to its eerie presence.

Intriguingly, the report filed with NUFORC also included a checkbox marked “possible abduction,” although no additional details were provided to support this aspect. Whether this was a speculative thought or based on something more concrete remains unclear.

The sighting has drawn attention from UFO enthusiasts online, particularly given the rarity of such reports from the Gulf region. Despite its brevity, the encounter is noteworthy due to the clarity of the sky, the full moon lighting, and the presence of two adult witnesses observing from a stable, elevated location.

As of now, no local aviation authorities have commented on the report, and no civilian radar data has confirmed the presence of an unidentified object in the area during that time.
