Nuremberg (/ˈnjʊərəmbɜːrɡ/ NURE-əm-burg; German: Nürnberg [ˈnʏʁnbɛʁk] ⓘ; Mainfränkisch: Nämberch [ˈnɛmbɛrç]) is the largest city in Franconia and the second-largest city in the German state of Bavaria. Its 546,397 (2024) inhabitants make it the 13th-largest city in Germany.
