A witness claims to have observed a large, saucer-shaped flying object over the Mexican capital, described as comparable in size to a commercial airliner, glowing with an intense orange light and appearing to shed molten-like sparks. The account was submitted to the National UFO Reporting Center (NUFORC), a U.S.-based organization that collects reports of unusual aerial sightings.
According to the testimony, the sighting began while the observer was speaking on the phone. At first, he believed he was watching a celestial body falling from space, before realizing that the orange light had stopped midair, at an elevation of roughly 45 degrees. The object then began a smooth descent, interspersed with lateral movements described as “unlike any known aircraft.”
Using binoculars, the witness described a glowing disk, featuring two concentric rings of orange lights. The underside revealed a complete circular formation, reinforcing its saucer-like appearance. The object also seemed to “emit incandescent material, resembling sparks or flowing lava.”
The craft’s movement was estimated at around 250 km/h. It reportedly continued toward the central area of Mexico City, descending until it disappeared behind a tree line and was not seen again.
NUFORC does not provide explanations for the reports it archives, publishing them without interpretation. At present, no independent evidence confirms the account. Local authorities and air traffic control have not issued statements regarding any unusual activity over the capital at the reported time.
