The Bigfoot community is mourning the loss of Dr. Don Jeffrey “Jeff” Meldrum, a full professor of anatomy and anthropology in the Department of Biological Sciences at Idaho State University, who passed away following a battle with brain cancer.

While respected for his academic work, Jeff Meldrum became widely known for his deep interest in the Bigfoot phenomenon, a legendary creature of North American folklore. His book Sasquatch: Legend Meets Science brought him considerable recognition in the field, while also sparking debate within the scientific community.

A popular and engaging speaker, he was frequently invited to Bigfoot conferences and appeared on numerous television programs dedicated to the subject. Meldrum’s unique blend of scientific rigor and open-minded curiosity earned him respect, even from skeptics.
