On August 4, 2025, a resident of the village of Andreas, in the north of the Isle of Man, reported witnessing an unusual aerial phenomenon to the National UFO Reporting Center (NUFORC). The sighting occurred at around 8:30 p.m. local time.
According to his account, the witness was in his backyard when he heard a strange noise, like something rapidly slicing through the air. Looking up, he initially saw nothing—until a dark object suddenly shot across the roof of his house, passing extremely low, at an estimated altitude of just 60–100 feet, before speeding off westward toward the Irish Sea.
The object was described as black, cigar-shaped (though not perfectly so), and about the size of a small sports car, roughly comparable to a BMW M3. The witness estimated its speed at around 500 mph (800 km/h). The entire event lasted only a few seconds but left a deep impression:
“My heart sank. I honestly thought World War III was starting, like it was a missile,” he wrote in his report.
One particularly striking detail: there was no sound of combustion, engines, or drone-like buzzing—only the sharp slicing of air and a faint high-pitched hum, similar to the constant tone one hears when sitting inside a passenger jet.
The witness says no one he has told seems to believe him, yet he remains convinced of what he saw and wonders whether it was some kind of advanced military technology or something entirely different.
Published on the NUFORC website on August 8, 2025, this report joins the long list of unidentified aerial sightings whose origin remains unexplained.
