A woman and her daughter reported seeing a UFO in Griswold, Connecticut on December 20, 2021. The woman, who asked to remain anonymous, said she was driving home with her daughter when they saw a brightly lit object hovering about 100 feet above the ground behind some trees.
"My daughter said she saw it as a rectangle with extremely bright lights on it," the woman said. "I just saw the extremely bright lights."
The woman said she drove about 100 feet ahead to a side road and turned around to get a better look at the object, but it was gone. She said she rolled down her window to listen for any sound, but there was none.
"My daughter was in shock," the woman said. "She couldn't believe it had just disappeared."
The woman reported the sighting to the National UFO Reporting Center (NUFORC). The NUFORC is a non-profit organization that collects and investigates reports of UFO sightings.
The NUFORC has received over 100,000 reports of UFO sightings since its founding in 1974. The organization does not take a position on the existence of UFOs, but it provides a forum for people to report their sightings and share their experiences.
The woman's sighting is the latest in a series of UFO sightings in Connecticut. In 2022, there were at least 10 reported UFO sightings in the state.
The phenomenon of UFO sightings is often shrouded in mystery. There is no scientific consensus on what causes UFO sightings, and some people believe that they are evidence of alien visitation. Others believe that UFO sightings are the result of misidentification of natural phenomena or man-made objects.
The woman who reported the Griswold UFO sighting said she is not sure what she saw, but she believes it was something out of the ordinary.
"I don't know what it was," she said. "But it was definitely something."
