New Documentary Revives Claims of Alleged Extraterrestrial Encounter at Holloman Air Force Base in 1964

A new documentary, The Age of Disclosure, is reigniting one of the most disputed narratives in American ufology. The film prominently features the testimony of Dr. Eric Davis, an astrophysicist and former scientific consultant for the Pentagon's Advanced Aerospace Threat Identification Program (AATIP). Davis claims that in 2003, former U.S. President George H. W. Bush privately recounted to him previously undisclosed information about an incident said to have occurred nearly forty years earlier, in 1964, at Holloman Air Force Base in New Mexico.

According to the account presented in the documentary, three unidentified craft reportedly approached the military installation, with one of them landing on a runway. A non-human entity is said to have exited the craft and engaged in a meeting with uniformed Air Force personnel and CIA civilians. Davis states that Bush — who had been briefed on the matter during his career — attempted, after leaving office, to obtain further details. Despite having served both as President and as Director of the CIA, Bush was allegedly denied additional access on the grounds that he “no longer needed to know.”

The film connects these claims to what it refers to as “Legacy Programs,” purported long-running classified initiatives spanning multiple administrations. These programs, according to the documentary’s narrative, were tasked with recovering and reverse-engineering unidentified aerial craft in an effort to understand or replicate their technologies.

The documentary also features Hal Puthoff, a physicist specializing in quantum science and another former member of AATIP. Puthoff asserts that such programs “have been going on for a long time” and that “bodies of various biological types” have been recovered over the years, including from an alleged crash in Russia in 1988.

No physical evidence is presented in the film to substantiate these claims. U.S. authorities, repeatedly questioned over the years about the existence of such programs, have never confirmed these accounts. The Age of Disclosure thus follows a longstanding tradition of documentaries blending testimony, historical records, and speculation — fueling a public debate marked by curiosity, skepticism, and demands for transparency.

Regardless of the filmmakers’ intentions, the documentary once again brings to the forefront questions about government handling of unexplained aerial phenomena and the boundaries of national security secrecy in an era shaped by information accessibility.
